Why Nepal Bans Social Media Platforms ?
The government believes the ban was needed to make online spaces safe & accountable. The rules force platforms to work within Nepals law & make sure users are protected.

The platforms were asked to register & set up a local office. The rule also required a grievance officer to be appointed under the Directive on Regulating the Use of Social Media 2080 (2023).
